Black silicon carbide for glass drilling
Black silicon carbide (Black SiC) micropowder is produced by smelting quartz sand and petroleum coke in a resistance furnace, followed by crushing, shaping and air classification. With a Mohs hardness of 9.2–9.5, sharp grain shape and excellent self-sharpening property, it is widely used as loose abrasive for drilling hard and brittle glass materials, including flat glass, thick glass and quartz glass.
